Once I claim an honors token at Town Hall, can someone take that from me? - m
No. Honor tokens are first come first served. After completing the requirements, you will need to visit Town Hall to obtain the honor, but you cannot lose it for any reason- from any board changes (losing a cabin) to death.
Where does my character start? - m
You'll find each characters starting location on the back of their character card. Refer to the 'last seen' location. Remember that your mini will not appear on the board until the start of your turn.
When you break a horse at the stables, do you gain a mount skill card?-m
When you break a horse at the stables, you actually gain the top mount card from the deck. The mount skill cards are specifically tied to individual mounts and will enter your combat deck when you obtain that mount.
What's the difference between Advanced Notoriety and Notoriety?-m
Notoriety with ADV below the star icon is used for advanced game modes. If you're playing Warm Welcome, you can ignore those refences until you're ready to progress to Shadow Governers.
For the To-Do List- If you sell multiple items in one visit, is it considered a single sale?-m
Yes.
Can you own multiple mounts?-m
No you cannot. Although you can always sell the mount back to Mirth for half of it's price rounded down, and then purchase a new one.
What is NP?
NP is Notoriety Points which are needed in order to win the game. Think of it like VP or Victory Points. The game is won by collecting Notoriety, and you can earn it by a variety of ways, just look for the little star icon. Any NP star with 'ADV' at the bottom of it, is used in advanced game modes.
What's the difference between skills and stats?
Skills are used for various challenges: Agility (AGI) for jumping across a river or using a firearm, Strength (STR) for swimming, etc.
Stats are a reflection of characters well-being: Speed (SPD) which is used to move around the board, Vigor (VIG) to determine how much health you have, and Will Power (WIL) for re-rolling failed dice rolls.
Someone is about to loot me! Can I put resources towards leveling an endeavor?
Unfortunately no. You can only dedicate resources towards leveling an endeavor on YOUR turn.
Can I take back resources that I've allocated to an endeavor card?
No. Once you've placed resources on an endeavor card to level it up, it will remain there until you have met the requirements. Then those resources will be returned to the supply.
How big is the game when laid on a table?
The game board is 18 x 36"... but there is also a configuration that is 18 x 27" and one that is 22.5 x 27". You also do not have to place everything in one spot.
Perks of having a modular board!
Can you win by being none-violent?
Absolutely! You can truly play this game however you'd like. If you don't want to pick any fights and evade all aggression that comes your way, then you absolutely can... and still have a fair chance at winning. If you don't want to participate in hunting Event Cards either, you always have an option of "letting the animal go, and drawing another card". Our goal with this game is to give you the chance to be the person you want to be and make your decisions in line with that.
Does each of the '4 Deadly Strangers' character have multiple paths to victory?
Yes, there are tons of ways to win and you can take a different route to victory every time you play the game. In addition to that, each character has three paths that are unique to them. You must choose one of those three each time you play the game.
What is the typical playtime?
The game is highly modular and the winning score can be set at various levels. Typically, games are played to 5, 10, 15, and 20 points. A game to 5 points takes 45 min to an hour on average. A game to 20 points can take 2.5 hours plus. Also, the varied gameplay lengths incorporate different game mechanics and modules as players progress through each play session.
What is the thickness/quality of the card materials?
The card sleeves are made by Panda Game Manufacturing. They will be completely clear/transparent and have a thickness of .1mm on each side--totaling to .2mm thick per sleeve. The add-on will come with enough card sleeves to sleeve EVERY card in the game. And yes, the custom-molded tray that comes with the game will hold all of your sleeved cards!
What are the game boards made from?
The game boards are made out of 2mm greyboard and wrapped on both sides with 250gsm paper with a matte varnish as to not reflect too much light. All edges will be wrapped and there are 10 of these boards in the box (5 x Terrain Tiles and 5 x Store Tiles). It would have been much cheaper for us to produce a single game board rather than 10 separate game boards, but separating the boards adds a HUGE aspect of modularity to the game!
